The Wall

I've been on antibiotics for over a week now and while individual symptoms are better, exhaustion continues to be an issue. I hit the wall yesterday at 7pm, so went ahead and tucked myself into bed. Slept through the night. Woke up this morning and continue to be groggy as all hell and very body sore.

I have a few projects today but will have to focus on things I can do quietly and slowly. Later.

It is my personal opinion that broad-spectrum antibiotics act like napalm in one's system. Sure, they're enormously effective at getting rid of the infection and I probably would have died some time ago without them, but they don't seem to leave a lot of one's vitality behind. I tend to be more exhausted toward the end of a course of antibiotics than I was with the original infection. Your own mileage may vary. :)

I hope life presents you with the space to rest and recover thoroughly!

They've got me on Septra and twice daily expectorant, with and if that doesn't cover the symptoms I was also prescribed a decongestant (which I haven't needed to take).

As always, I'm making sure to eat my yogurt and drink Kefir which I hope will stave off the worst of the side effects. Not sure anything can help this African Sleeping Sickness, though.
