A lovely surprise
Woke up and found these little darlings greeting the day.
That's Nera, our Rouen duck. There are 11 ducklings that look like they might be mixes of Rouen, Swede and Khaki Campbell.
Update: Found a large stainless steel bowl at a tag sale for a few bucks, swapped it out with the shallower bantam feeder. Now the little ducklings have a very shallow metal plate (from the Weber grill, I think it catches bits of charcoal) for water and an old chick feeder filled with starter feed for them. So far, Mamma Nera is keeping them clear of both, she'll know when the time is right and lead them there.
