Where we are

Whidbey Island has been oddly protected, as had much of the Pacific Northwest, from the extreme summer weather. Its odd to watch the national news and see such high temperatures everywhere, all while Flash is curled up in a wool blanket and I'm wearing a fleece jacket in my living room. At 59F, we're fairly comfortable and only expecting another 8 - 10 degrees as the day progresses. Which places us firmly on the short/long sleeves boundary. Hard to imagine, really.

Kevin arrived home late last night and in a rare bit of logic, they dropped him off at the terminal on base where his truck has been parked. I'm always happy to pick people up from trips in town and drive them home, but post-migraine isn't my best day.

Still dealing with Tricare pharmacy screw ups. The system says I've used up all my refills, while the bottle specifically says I have 1 more remaining. I'm bringing it in to show the Pharmacy Supervisor and hopefully my doctor has ordered another refill, as I called in the request around 8am. I truly hate doing that to her, she has patients to see. Likely going to have to make an appointment to see her soon, as the pharmaceutical industry is no longer making my migraine medication - Midrin. I have no idea if I should go in with a request based on research or just let her prescribe me something, then come home and research it. Narcotics do not work well on me, so I'm most hesitant about this. Any suggestions?

Relpax was very effective for me, though my doctor only prescribed it four pills at a time to keep an eye on how often I was having migraines. Or maybe that's just how it was issued? Not sure.

So jealous of your weather. :)

Its only 63*F here in Portland. All in all, a rather crappy summer, if you ask me. No, I don't want 112*F heat, but enough sun to ripen my strawberries and draw out my tomatoes would be nice.

Still, I shouldn't complain, so I'll stop now.

when did they stop making midrin? It's not the most effective for me, but it is cheap enough that if money ever became an issue it is what I would turn to. The main issue with it is that it makes me pretty sedated and so it's best to take it and go to bed, but that isn't much an option with Stephen running around.

currently I take Maxalt, which is non-narcotic and works better than immitrex for me.
