I spent an hour working outside with Noah to get the Bantie Barn, the breeding hutch and brooder hutch all cleaned out. Refilled waterers and tried once again to communicate to Noah the importance of fixing the duck pen fencing. I've placed an ad to find a general handy man and have been chatting with the gal who responded. We'll have her over and see what she thinks. In the meanwhile, Noah is working hard to regain his reputation with us. Update: Apparently not, he snuck off without having fixed the fence. Or caught the ducks that got out. Grr.
I managed to catch Bernie, but that's it. Update: TC nextdoor helped me catch 2 more, Babs and Granny. Now its just Pops on the lam.
This afternoon we sold off the 9 Blue Swede mix ducklings. Lucy has two KC ducklings in her pen, we'll give the ducklings another few weeks to fill out, then at 1 month we'll move them all back into the KC pen with Bernie.
Onyx is doing marvelously with her 3 chicks, one is definitely a cockerel and likely a Splash one at that. The other two appear to be female, though its a bit early to tell.
Salt continues to brood on her eggs, they are so dirty I haven't any idea if they can hatch but she only has a week to go so we'll let her continue. Wendy has another 1.5 to 2 weeks on her eggs, she's so happy that she's singing contentedly to herself. You can hear her when you walk by the Bantie Barn.
