Hobo and the Resurrected Cricket

trystinnFlash is moping. He has worked himself up to a truly fine level of mope because I won't let him go lurv on Hobo. Mostly because Hobo is dealing with a lot right now (a neutering, drainage tubes, living indoors) and doesn't really want to make friends with Flash. This is breaking Flash's heart because Flash is the ultimate nanny and he knows there is a critter in the master bathroom who might need grooming and snuggling.
Also, we had a resurrected Cricket in the house. As will be the case, my favorite Silkie got her head stuck in the feeder sometime yesterday. By the time I found her, I was convinced she was dead. Or at least, heavily neurologically impaired. I unstuck her head, brought her limp body indoors, warmed her up on a heating pad and got honey water in her. All while Flash whined and begged to be given the chicken. I also had Gracie on duty. She sat next to the chicken, that Border Collie gaze fixated on Cricket for several hours. *eye roll* By bedtime, she was resting comfortably and ate a bit of scrambled egg. We set her up in the meditation room overnight, so she was warm and protected on her heating pad in a laundry basket all night. This morning I found her up on the main altar, hanging out and looking quite pleased with herself. So she's back outside with her feathered family and the evil feeder has been removed from their pen.
My nerves are shot, but I'm thankful both critters are doing well.
