Its finally happened - high speed internet has come to our neighborhood. You have to adore the irony that one company can take over three separate bills at half the cost.
As of tomorrow: my home phone (Verizon), AO-HELL and Direct TV can kiss my pink Irish ass!

Date: 2006-01-09 12:48 am (UTC)lemme know how this works out. I've been thinking about making the big switch, but have a few months left on my dsl contract. as soon as the time is up we were hoping to go to comcast for cable internet and then get a larger family package for cellphones and then we can just tell verizon to go fuck themselves...again.

Date: 2006-01-09 12:58 am (UTC)when we moved from burlington and transfered the dsl they fucked us over. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer/tech service. These are the people that passed me around and around back and forth to the same departments cuz they were all morons. 2 months later out of the blue my email account was closed. Why? they lost it. just poof, lost. but I should open a new account then in a few days they can sync the accounts. but in the meantime all my email is lost, and I have to make a new email address.
yea right. 30 minutes later I was back at earthlink.
Now...a few months after that when we upgraded to earthlink dsl (another hassle...huge hassle which is why we are going to cable) I found out that earthlink buys it's service from verizon. so if you peel back the shiny 'earthlink' label you will see the dented/knicked/scratched/moldy/oldy/crusty/rusty verfuckingizon label still!
very frustrating.
