Dear Gods how I love my friends
Jul. 20th, 2007 12:45 amNot only have all of you been so great and supportive during this time, well always really, friends have been dropping in. Today, it was friends from the mainland - they've been on a biking tour of the San Juan Islands and having heard about Glory through the grapevine, re-routed their trip through Oak Harbor. Which is a sacrifice of near biblical proportions, as those of you who have seen Oak Harbor know. They took me out to dinner and listened, held my hand and cheered me up immensely. Not to mention gloriously amazing kick ass HUGS! As they bike south tomorrow (weather permitting), they'll drop in to see Glory.
I also got a call from the ladies who invited me to that glorious beach ritual. Grapevine has been at it there, too. Seems a few would like to see what they can do for Glory if it wouldn't be intruding. I assured them they would be wonderfully welcomed and thanked them. And for those who wondered, no its not Huna - this is some kind of fusion Pacific/Polynesia paradigm the native Hawaiian and Japanese women here have put together, as I understand it. More to come on this.
No idea what they're going to do and I get the feeling it would be somewhat rude and insulting of me to ask, so I haven't. They know what they're doing and I wouldn't even know what questions to ask. So color me bemused and curious now. What's there to know, I've no idea.
Drums - check. Flower petals - check. Candles - check. Chanting in Hawaiian and Japanese - dear Gods I hope I get a cheat sheet this time!
