You knit??

[identity profile] tryst-inn.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
That's up for debate.

I know a few basics, so I can make things like potholders and bracelets but I want to actually learn the stitches, how to follow a pattern, etc.

I used to knit quite a lot, prior to neck injuries. Now, I can only do a little at a time. :(

Made myself a quickie neck warmer the other night from a skein of utterly delicious yarn called Fettucini and one huge button.

May I recommend Big Book of Knitting by Katharina Buss? The pictures alone make the book worth the price. There is NOTHING like a close-up photo of what something is supposed to look like, as opposed to a drawing. Also, you might enjoy picking up the little booklet called The Magic Loop by Sarah Hauschka and Bev Galeskas, published by Fiber Trends.

Thank you - recommendations are fabulous and always welcome, I'll order them through our bookstore!

Not sure if you can order the Magic Loop book for the bookstore, but the website has links to various stores that carry it as well as online sources.

Enjoy!
