Date: 2006-02-06 09:14 pm (UTC)I know a few basics, so I can make things like potholders and bracelets but I want to actually learn the stitches, how to follow a pattern, etc.

Date: 2006-02-06 09:22 pm (UTC)Made myself a quickie neck warmer the other night from a skein of utterly delicious yarn called Fettucini and one huge button.
May I recommend Big Book of Knitting by Katharina Buss? The pictures alone make the book worth the price. There is NOTHING like a close-up photo of what something is supposed to look like, as opposed to a drawing. Also, you might enjoy picking up the little booklet called The Magic Loop by Sarah Hauschka and Bev Galeskas, published by Fiber Trends.
