Its a gloriously bright Sunday here on the Island, which makes for foot traffic and a busy shop. Well, in theory anyway. In reality, we've had a few folks in but only one sale and that was a Special Order, which somehow just don't count.

New Navy couple to the area dropped in, he's a Sci Fi & D&D guy so I sent him to the only gaming shop in town, as well as gave them pointers on where things are action-wise around here, etc. He's a motorbike enthusiast, so I'll probably end up setting him and the hubby up to chat over their bikes. Did I mention one of Josh's friend gave him a non-fuctioning motorbike yesterday? Joy.

Local author Peggy Darst came by to make sure we had plenty of copies of her books. I expect we'll see a few more authors today, all of which will ask me questions about their consignment contracts I cannot and never have been able to answer for them. Perhaps I can find a local chess club to play on Sundays so I'm not stuck in the shop shrugging my shoulders repeatedly at local authors all day. Hmn...

There's a tiny patch of sunlight falling on the corner upholstered chair, so I've been tucked in there reading Helen Fielding while trying to decide if I should order lunch or wait until the store closes at 4. I have no idea whose fault it is that I'm reading the British equivalent of chick-lit, though I'm figuring its probably the Carole Matthews Advanced Copy of "With or Without You". Sadly, we're fresh out of Barbara Kingsolver which is what I'm truly in the mood to be reading.

I can't help but feel that a proper occult section would make Sundays a bit more bearable. As it is, I'm surrounded by little gems like "Prosperity magic" and "Money Spells", a dozen trite books on tarot for beginners and the associated variant towards astrology. I'm hoping a few pagan friends will drop by the store for some occult chat while we sneak cups of ice out of the espresso stand and eat all the complimentary animal crackers.

1/2 shift done, 1/2 to go...

LMAO

I take it you've seen the "Illustrated Guide to Wicca" in all its bullshit-themed glory?

Its horrific, absolutely horrific and describes BTW in a way I barely recognize, with almost incompetent research and dumbed down explanations.
