I accidently friend-locked the first one, so here goes again: In the Seattle area, a Gardnerian group called "Temple of the Dark Moon" run by Joseph and Cynthia.

I'm rather concerned, of course, that this "Joseph" isn't the notorious Don Joseph who offers "Gardnerian" sexual initiations to underage girls.

Thank you

Edit: This group is described as being in the North along the I-5 corridor, and does indeed have two Witchvox profiles, one of which is a "Teen" listing.

If they are the people I am thinking of, yes they are/were Gardnerians - M & A-M who know Z - should know them, at least M should.

However, the listing on Witchvox under "teen groups" (http://www.witchvox.com/vn/vn_detail/dt_gr.html?a=uswa&id=28991) bothers me...even if it does refer back to Adult groups further in the listing.

Temple of the Dark Moon Coven

Age Range/Type: Teen
Located in: Seattle Area, Washington
Key Contact: Cynthia Ashworth

Spiritual Path: Gardnerian

Mmmmmmmmmmmm ... I'm not on your friends lock?? Awwww. :(

There IS a legitimate Gardnerian couple up there, and yes her name is Cynthia, but I don't recall his name. And I don't think they're tacky enough to advertise to teens. And I don't recall their group name. Horrible memory, eh? So you can ask her if she knows me, and if so, how. (I can provide confirmation on that.) Also for the Craft names of her upline, just the first generation will do (and yes, I can confirm that too).

Alternatively, do you know their e-dress? Can compare that to the legit folks I know, see what's what. (Why do I think that his name is Mike? Might be.) By all reports, the real folks are very-VERY nice people ...

Yours from the land of sleep deprivation -- :Dana

That teen listing is what scared me. Cannot begin to think of a BTW group who would advertise as such, though I suppose its always possible. I've been bitten by just such a supposition before, as we all know. *WEG*

Hubby and I missed seeing Z this week, but next week we'll be seeing M, H & Z who may have more information. When I spoke to A-M last night she was unaware of the valid Gard group meeting up in the "northern I-5 corridor" for an Outer Grove and didn't know of a Joseph who would be refered to as a HP or teacher.

Do we know if the valid group is run by this "Cynthia Ashworth" or if they go publicly by Temple of the Dark Moon?

You're definately on my Flock, I swear! I made the post right before the LJ Outtage - so possibly no one saw it due to that little kerfuffle.

The Cynthia and Mike (valid Gards) are, as far as we know, pretty much Seattle-based and those who know them agree a Witchvox teen listing isn't their style. This group was described as being in the northern I-5 corridor, which is where we first got the alarming thought that they are indeed Don Joseph & Company.

Will try to get you an email address soonest.

Just as a stylistic note, any "dark moon" stuff is not usually Gardnerian. Your friend is right to ask questions and check twice.

I thought I saw that post before, and now I can't. Did you add me as well, or am I having a weekend brainfart?

The LJ Outage made a huge mess. I am somewhat surprised to see no data loss.

I agree with Dana; Gardnerians are usually the ones calling themselves 'dark moon'.

Yep, you're added. Wierd LJ mess, eh? I left the older request, so it should still be there. If not, well, LJ ate it!

Like Dana, I think the guy's name was Mike, but having memory issues today. I had a few email contacts with them shrotly after they arrived in the Seattle area, but never met IRL to my knowledge, but M knew of them.

I didn't think Don Joseph was still in the area...but I'm so far out of the local gossip loops these days he could be living in my neighborhood and I wouldn't necesarily know it.

A covenor saw him at the shop in Snohomish (Legends of Camelot? something like that) this summer. She has a rather strong repulsion towards him since he offered her his "initiation" a few years ago.

This is NOT Cynthia who is legitimately a Gardnerian HPS and who I can give you a way to talk to privately if you want. I know her and her downline from correspondence and that ain't her name nor her partner's name, so I am betting that you are right with who you think it is.

I'm so proud of her - she was so embarrassed, thought we'd think she was a "stupid bitch" (her words, not mine). She's been actively seeking for 6 months now and its been extraordinarily rough.

Talk about a character building experience!
