Looking for a Gardnerian vouch, part II
Nov. 5th, 2006 12:16 pmI accidently friend-locked the first one, so here goes again: In the Seattle area, a Gardnerian group called "Temple of the Dark Moon" run by Joseph and Cynthia.
I'm rather concerned, of course, that this "Joseph" isn't the notorious Don Joseph who offers "Gardnerian" sexual initiations to underage girls.
Thank you
Edit: This group is described as being in the North along the I-5 corridor, and does indeed have two Witchvox profiles, one of which is a "Teen" listing.

Date: 2006-11-05 10:02 pm (UTC)However, the listing on Witchvox under "teen groups" (http://www.witchvox.com/vn/vn_detail/dt_gr.html?a=uswa&id=28991) bothers me...even if it does refer back to Adult groups further in the listing.
Temple of the Dark Moon Coven
Age Range/Type: Teen
Located in: Seattle Area, Washington
Key Contact: Cynthia Ashworth
Spiritual Path: Gardnerian

Date: 2006-11-05 10:14 pm (UTC)Hubby and I missed seeing Z this week, but next week we'll be seeing M, H & Z who may have more information. When I spoke to A-M last night she was unaware of the valid Gard group meeting up in the "northern I-5 corridor" for an Outer Grove and didn't know of a Joseph who would be refered to as a HP or teacher.
Do we know if the valid group is run by this "Cynthia Ashworth" or if they go publicly by Temple of the Dark Moon?

Date: 2006-11-05 11:55 pm (UTC)I didn't think Don Joseph was still in the area...but I'm so far out of the local gossip loops these days he could be living in my neighborhood and I wouldn't necesarily know it.

Date: 2006-11-05 10:09 pm (UTC)There IS a legitimate Gardnerian couple up there, and yes her name is Cynthia, but I don't recall his name. And I don't think they're tacky enough to advertise to teens. And I don't recall their group name. Horrible memory, eh? So you can ask her if she knows me, and if so, how. (I can provide confirmation on that.) Also for the Craft names of her upline, just the first generation will do (and yes, I can confirm that too).
Alternatively, do you know their e-dress? Can compare that to the legit folks I know, see what's what. (Why do I think that his name is Mike? Might be.) By all reports, the real folks are very-VERY nice people ...
Yours from the land of sleep deprivation -- :Dana

Date: 2006-11-05 10:18 pm (UTC)The Cynthia and Mike (valid Gards) are, as far as we know, pretty much Seattle-based and those who know them agree a Witchvox teen listing isn't their style. This group was described as being in the northern I-5 corridor, which is where we first got the alarming thought that they are indeed Don Joseph & Company.
Will try to get you an email address soonest.

Date: 2006-11-05 10:25 pm (UTC)The LJ Outage made a huge mess. I am somewhat surprised to see no data loss.
I agree with Dana; Gardnerians are usually the ones calling themselves 'dark moon'.
