Update: Blah, Part 2
Feb. 11th, 2005 07:06 pmSo not only did the owner of the house counter offer, but they completely stripped our offer of all the good stuff and changed their offering on the house significantly.
See, the fence was being installed, but apparently - they are only fencing the SIDES of the property...how bizarre is that? They aren't even containing the backyard, which was the original deal. There's not going to be any fencing at the backend of the yard. Then, they didn't want to accept the 1 year warranty. No word on the problems with the garage.
There's a reason the house has been on the market 6 months, and I'm beginning to realize its the out of proportion expectations of the owner/builder.
So now, suddently there's all these other 'offers' hanging about waiting to land on the house so we need to accept this counter offer NOW if we're going to accept it, or counter offer again.
Quite frankly - I'm completely unwilling to play this game in the least. Yeuck. Good thing Josh agrees. Who wants to buy a house feeling this much stress, this much annoyance at the problems of the house, suddenly no backyard fence (only side fencing), unsealed garage, NO LANDSCAPING, and no ability to get highspeed internet except via VERY expensive satelite internet (that never works when it rains and is very slow), etc.
We're taking a pass on this one.
