Is it noon yet?
Mar. 20th, 2007 10:02 amSurprised the Hell out of Josh by waking up before him and making coffee, etc. before he headed off in his uniform to the base. Spent a bit of time watching for cottontails while drinking coffee before toggling the computer on. Note to Self: French Vanilla coffee and cesar pasta salad do not mix well. Blech.
Unfortunately, I was only able to get online a few minutes at a time before getting "timeout" pages and so after waiting until 7:30 for MDM to open their phone lines I spent a half hour waiting for a technician to pick up. I'm always hesitant to call, since I know PSE is working on the electric lines up and down the Island on Route 20, knocking out servers, modems, etc. and that is not MDM's fault. I went over that with the tech, who was relieved to find out it wasn't going to be one of "those calls" and got to work doing the research to solve the connectivity issue. I explained I'd rebooted the modem, router, my pc, ran virus, adware, spyware checkers, etc. and had even tried another computer and my bandwidth meter was still showing bandwidth just a notch above dial up speeds - so we had a good foothold and were able to figure out that its probably a bad modem within a short period of time. So now I wait a week for a new modem to come in the mail. Ugh. Well, it was quicker than waiting for a tech, given they've no designated Island personnel. *glare* Hell, hire me, I can at least run the regular troubleshoots at client homes.
I've been hoping for a dry spell, so the burn pile will get a chance to dry out and hold a bonfire for friends. I'd really like to start the Spring without this huge pile in the yard, especially since the wood fence renovation is likely to create even more burn piles as we discard the cut offs. That is, if the guys get around to that project.
