trystinn: (buns)
Most likely Peony got pregnant at some point in our care - sort of depends on how long she's been hiding her litter. With a 30 day average gestation, and our having rescued them on May 8th the math works out. Which has me thinking - how on earth did they manage this? I had them in separate cages in separate rooms at night. During the day I put them in two separate pens, pushed together, which means they managed to have bun sex through two sets of bars. BDSM buns! I'd apologize but somehow I figure DB and Trystn are more than thrilled with the little surprises. Zen, we never knew you had it in you - good think you're fixed now, little dude!

In other news, our vacation is going quite well - Aunt B, Larry and Cosmo (their golden) arrived last night, which brings Mum's house up to 7 adults and 2 dogs. Since three more family members are arriving tomorrow (no dogs, sadly) we'll be up to 10 adults for the next few days! Josh and I have sort of tagged ourselves as the dog walkers, since we're suffering from major dog withdrawl - not that Phoebe (my parents' golden) isn't adorable, mind. Cos is hysterical, but Phoebe is a tad alarmed by him since his manners are on par with Flash, which is to say none at all. Speaking of Flash, we hear he's been pulling Houdinis since we left. He's managed to get out several times to hang out on the front porch and visit the neighbor's kids, Kevin and Deb think they've figured out how he's doing it and hopefully the 'fix' will take care of the rascal!

I'd forgotten how beautiful the Berkshires are in June. Humid as all hell and in the eighties (kill me now) but gorgeous! I've been doing the obligatory shopping with Mum, Josh and I each picked up two pairs of shoes today, including the wonderfully comfy Crocs. I was somewhat shocked to realize I now wear size 11s in some shoes, though a 9 mens works fine. Gah. I am undertall for such a shoe size! My accent is worse than ever, but I can admit I'm having fun reassuming the role of a JAP. Speaking of that, Da bought me 2 gigs of RAM for my PC, oof dah! I could get used to this - who do I think I'm kidding? I'm already used to this!

What a relief to be in a part of the country that manages to be patriotic, yet civil rights minded at the same time.
