Exploring the environment

I managed to pick up the book "Revised Plants of the Pacific Northwest Coast: Washington, Oregon, British Columbia & Alaska" by Pojar & Mackinnon via Lone Pine. I've been meaning to truly commit to wildcrofting which required a handy, portable reference book with great pictures and diagrams. This would be it. I'm rather amazed at the bounty available here, especially now that I have a better guide in identifying everything.

Several well-meaning friends had mis-identified several trees and plants on our property, which has provided several delightful surprises. Helmock, we've got Hemlock trees! So don't piss me off, eh? :)

The true work begins now, finding additional resources and getting permission from the owners if possible. There's enough vacant untouched lots in our neighborhood to begin with, I don't think anyone will mind me exploring a bit. I'll check with the community office in case anyone reports a suspicious straw hat wearing woman lurking about.
