Spent half the day with Wendy and Deb building rabbit exercise pens. Finished one entirely, though the nicest thing I can say about our efforts to attach chicken coop wire is that its done. I've got the wood cut and painted for another pen, just needs to be assembled and fencing wire attached. There's enough materials for perhaps another two pens - Deb wants one, so we'll get the wood cut and see what's needed. One of my neighbors owns a contracting business, when he comes up on the weekends he often brings wood scraps. I'm hoping to talk him into donating some for the cause.

Managed to finally find a local hay supplier (via the community board at Cenex farm supply) who offers bales for about $3 - Trystn, want one or several? These are somewhat lightly packed standard bales, which are great because I can actually toss them around without hurting myself. Something I cannot do with a long bale or one that's been very tightly baled. The gal who sold us the hay was fabulous (and has four dogs, daughter wants a bun for Christmas) - so made a friend to boot. Still have to move 5 bales from the van to the garden shed, already prepped a space for them. Got home and moved the two black female mini-rexes into it for the evening. I'll check on them in a bit but I don't expect problems. I was able to move Frasier into the two story cage, so he has more room. Hopefully in the next few days we can finish another pen so he can has one of his own to romp in.

Meanwhile, probably because of all this, my sciatica is acting up in both hips. Shit. You just can't win for losing some days. I'll have to deal with that at some point before it becomes an ER visit. I prefer chiropractic treatment, but I'm not sure my options under Tricare for that.
