They grow up so fast
Dec. 7th, 2008 05:34 pmWhile Libby is still quite small, her kitten collar was getting a bit tight and didn't have a break away safety feature. She's been tugging on it, so I knew it was bothering her. So today after closing the bookstore, Flash and I ran by the pet shop to buy her a new one. A lovely red one with reflective striping (she's nearly impossible to see in the dark) and a red bell. We also bought Flash new antlers, these have a chin strap for security. *chortle* He's been moping every since. There's a lot of mope in the life of a bookstore Basset.
Tuesday I drop her off to be spayed. She seems to small and young, but I know we're already running late with this even as she hasn't had her first heat. She just seems so small and young to me, even if she is amazingly independent!
I'm in complete denial.
Update: For followers of the Flash and Libby Nursing Saga
Libby just ran up to a sleeping Flash and grabbed his butt with both paws as if she were about to destroy her mortal enemy, then without warning began nursing ardently. Flash growled a bit in his sleep and immediately stopped because she dug her claws in. She's now lying on his back while nursing off his shoulder, I can hear her from across the living room.
I really can't tell how this is going to end. If at all.
