Tuesday Report
Feb. 17th, 2009 08:15 pmAnother lovely, if chilly, afternoon at the dog park.
Today we had a beautiful newcomer, Diesel the Burmese Mountain Dog. Just the sweetest thing, about 5 months old and a very shy. The minute his mother let him in the park, he ran right over to me and sat by me for the first ten minutes before heading out to give the other dogs a shot before running back to me. This continued for about two hours.
At some point, I realized this was getting a little silly so I went over to stand next to his mother. Even she was mystified though Josh just cracked up - you can nearly always find me surrounded by animals. It's been this way since I was a kid, dragged around to stores and model homes. I'd find some quiet place to camp out and read a book, within minutes I'd have a furry companion begging for attention. Have a cranky cat who hates nearly everyone? You'll find him on my lap. Have a people-shy dog that's afraid of his own shadow? Yep, right here under my arm.
I've likely missed the boat somewhere with an obvious career-choice, but I'm satisfied with how it's all turned out: two dogs, two cats and eleven rabbits later.
