One must wonder...

It started out so simply, so mundanely, really. The color on the walls of the living room, as original to the purchase of our home, is a really bland light golden yellow. This wouldn't be so hard to rectify, except hubby bought us a very dark moss green three-seater sofa. Now, we're pushing things. So after several years, I finally found a sage/light moss paint that would go with the sofa (main issue, frankly) yet not clash with the rooms immediately surrounding the living room, including the foyer and the hallway to the back of the house.
"Two years. Took me two damn years. But I finally found Behr's "Laurel Green". Bought a gallon today at Ye Local Home Depot and brought it home to paint the starter wall. As we all know, the starter wall is the one you paint to see if you can put up with the color on the rest of the walls. At first, we were skeptical - wet it looked suspiciously too similar to seafoam green. We threw another coat on it and waited. And waited. And eventually, we watched "Hunt for Red October" because a HfRO matinee makes everything alright. And it did. The paint darkened as it dried into a nice light moss. Beautiful. Except now we had a living room full of furniture displaced by the painting. So, of course, being reasonable people - we re-arranged the furniture in the living room, dining room and foyer.
Joy.
There are many wonderful new things about the layout. My desk is now a small table in the living room, where I can simultaneously watch the rabbits out the windows, watch the driveway, watch tv, hold hubby's hand and observe the fish now conveniently located in the foyer (Note to self: Moving a 50 gallon aquarium sucks). A great vantage point, rather like a guard tower, really.
When we first bought the house, we blocked the doors with the rabbits - who at that point lived in a large ferret cage since we only had the two mini-lop girls. So this will be the first time we've actually used them. Much more convenient for summer."
