Check out the human occupied areas of the
Moon. Now, as you look about all the landings, maximum zoom. I won't spoil it for you, its hysterical.
Now, let's say I want to go to Treadwell's Books - Google tells me
how. Check out step 20.
Once more, chuckles courtesy of

Date: 2007-03-30 07:17 pm (UTC)I had a ball throwing my current and older addresses into Google map satelite. Although they seem to have my mailbox's location (we're across the street from the arrow). From the look of the surrounding territory, I'm thinking the picture was from last summer - when the grass was yellow and burnt. And, of course, without the Fury in the driveway.
Otherwise, how cool is that? You can see our spiral walk & hubby's cedar workshop from space! However, Google maps couldn't quite find my Mum's place in the Berkshires. It did, though, have a gorgeous tight lens of the beautiful building where I lived in Brooklyn.

Date: 2007-03-30 07:31 pm (UTC)For some reason, google maps wants to put my house on the corner. It's the third house in on the right, with the green roof. Wonder why I can't see the garage? If you do a search for my addy and zoom out a bit, you'll see the enormous cemetery that's at the end of my street.
I'm way too amused by this...
Date: 2007-03-30 08:24 pm (UTC)Click south a few times and you'll see our lovely beach - that's Penn Cove and farther east the San De Fuca strait. If you click north until you hit water, you'll see the NAS Whidbey base. The airfield is particularly visible. The heavily populated area north and east of us is downtown Oak Harbor - The large dock crossing the peninsula is the Sea Plan Base (a part of NAS Whidbey).
Unfortunately, the buffalo aren't visible from space. I checked. :( The drive in is!
Geek moment, sorry.
