Home again, home again, jiggity jig
Aug. 22nd, 2007 08:18 amNow that the boat is back in Everett, Josh is commuting back and forth which I hate. He's a shoddy driver under the best of circumstances and five am is never a good circumstance as far as I'm concerned. Flash, being Flash, has been giving Josh a wide berth and keeping close to me. Currently, he's curled up against Glory which is going to piss her off something fierce when she wakes up. She's not fond of him, as he is the penultimate whippersnapper, but being annoyed at him does force her to think - which is good for a fifteen year old dog. So far we've been lucky, no more grand mals, just milder seizures. Never thought I'd be grateful for mild seizures, but I am.
I've been putting off going to the market, but having ran out of dog food this morning, I can put it off no longer. One simply *must* feed carnivores or one runs the chance of being on the evening news: "Bibliophile eaten by family dogs" or some such. Speaking of which, I should probably buy another bale or two of hay, rabbits don't revolt in the general sense but they could teach disapproval to a Dutch uncle. And they are viewable from almost the entire north side of the house. *gulp*
I did manage to surprise Josh by losing a pant size, which is about twenty pounds as I recall. Yes, I know twenty pounds is a lot for 7 weeks - no lectures! Between the hikes and a general lack of appetite, the weight sort of fell away. My calves and knees aren't thankful, however, so I'm going to have to take it easy on the inclines at Fort Ebey. It would be just like me to aggravate old injuries and be sidelined for a few months. Crossed fingers!
Note to self: find out if knees are supposed to squeak audibly.
