Pushing Wonderful music
Oct. 10th, 2007 12:39 pmI tend to cycle through movie genres, last one was British this one is Bollywood. I was raised on subtitled movies, so that never bothers me though it can be interesting trying to find the English subtitles on some DVDs. Hell, half the time I end up watching tv and movies with the subtitles on so I can catch the dialogue, anyway, especially with squeaky voiced actresses on the rise.
Its so refreshing to see a different worldview for a change instead of the pablum Hollywood puts out in droves. Insipid humor isn't my thing, but a glorious mixture of foreign scenery and gorgeous costuming is very much up my alley. One of my favorites so far is "Umrao Jaan", so much so that I bought the album and may pick up the movie. If you're feeling adventurous, sneak over to iTunes or Amazon and sample a bit.
