I was up half the night worrying about hay and feed for the rescue buns, given that my cheap hay source (aka Erin) sold out. Freaking out, thinking how I'm going to feed 16 buns all winter until first cut in May.

Mercy came in the form of a phone call this afternoon from Erin, she's selling a horse and so has LOTS more hay to sell. Leaving in a moment to pick up another 6 bales. I'm going to try to work out a schedule so I can pick up another 6 bales each month, since I haven't the storage for more.

I realize a few of you have been thinking about our little bun rescue and possibly asked for some divine support on our behalf. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Update: Erin was absolutely delighted to become our hay source, no problem taking 6 bales per month until further notice and she's inclined to be very flexible. This turns a $90 hay bill into $18 a month. MUCH more doable. She's also volunteered to foster any pregnant buns and their litters, since she homeschools her 4 kids. No, she's not getting Foxie. ;)

The guy bringing three buns on Saturday volunteered to bring us 30 pounds of alfalfa pellet and asked us to let him know what else we need. He's offered us use of his employee discount at Cenex and another set of hands come pen building weekends.

Whew!
