Bandit update

Dr. M took a good look at Bandit and declared her an elder bunny. Chances are, given her ear tattoo she was a breeder rabbit which lowers her lifespan to only 5 years. The doctor thinks she has one of three things: 1) worms, 2) lack of beneficial gut bacteria (Acidophilus, etc.) or is losing liver function in her old age. While tests are being done, she's now on a daily dose of ProBios - healthy gut bacteria. Fortunately, these come in two forms. The first is a powder to mix in with her alfalfa pellets with honey. The second is a horse biscuit she can munch on daily. Needless to say, we have full bunny approval on the biscuits!
Bandit weighed in at about 3.5 pounds, which for a dutch is a bit low, as they tend toward chubbiness. We likes the chubby bunnies here, so we'll continue to try to tempt her. Fortunately, Bandit is a very enthusiastic eater! Given that Bandit & Shadow are housed together, this means Shadow will be receiving a health affirming dose of ProBios, too. And should it prove to be an infection or worms, we'll treat her as well.
Shadow was very annoyed at me for taking her bunny away, so I had to apologize profusely while being receiving several foot thumps. A full fur cleaning has ensued, as poor Bandit is covered in human smells. Shadow does not approve of vet visits, rabbit carriers or Bandit having adventures without her.
All good tummy energies welcome for Bandit.

Thanks!
