She was homeless. What was I going to do leave her out in the cold and rain?

Gracie has already adopted her, treating her as gently as she would a newborn puppy. Flash isn't quite sure about all this, but he's very interested in her. Needless to say, we're treating her for fleas. Vet appointment next week to start vaccinations, etc. and find out how old she is, when she can get spayed, etc.

In a box marked "Free Kittens" in front of the local Kmart. Technically, it was cold and rainy today (in the fifties), so that counts right? *bites lip*

So far, free kitten has cost about $60 in kitten food, flea shampoo, toys, etc. Thank Gods I had a litter box and cat litter.

She's a gorgeous, absolutely fearless adventurous little tortie with tourmaline eyes. We're all completely smitten.

I know all about the naming everything George (although for me it was George or Fred, but I rarely wanted to hug and kiss fish. Especially dead ones.) Gracie wants to be a surrogate/adoptive mommy. She knows the little thing needs love and caring :)

Fudgie is very concerned, but guarded the kitten most of the night.

Yeah, yeah, I'm a sucker. We'd wanted another cat for rodent control in the hay shed and couldn't find a cat that got along with the dogs and rabbits. This way, we can (hopefully) raise her alongside them. She's certainly *not* afraid of the dogs, Fudgie or the rabbits.

But tiny, its the tiny that has me a bit worried. Vet visit upgraded to this afternoon to see if we can age her appropriately. Another appointment at the end of August for her HIV/Feline Leukemia, first shots, etc. and set a date for her spay.
