We brought a very drugged Flash home from the vet yesterday afternoon. Poor thing couldn't walk in a straight line, but he refused to not be involved in anything we were doing so he kept staggering out like a Kennedy on a three day leave. Libby immediately took control of the situation and curled up with him, because when Libby wants to nap he naps. She's now finished her kitten vaccinations and according to the vet, is old enough to spay. Oh my. She seems so little!

Noir is in fine health, but Nyx has both an eye ulcer and a respiratory infection. We discussed putting her in the infirmary during her treatment but decided changing her environment would likely put too much stress on her and removing her from Noir wouldn't be good, either. Nyx has a follow up appointment on Thursday to check on the infection and re-check the eye.

Given that I missed Furkid Friday photos, here's a pic of Libby curled up with Flash post-teeth cleaning:

Ours is a strange and beautiful love . . .

I keep hearing Bill Murray's "Dogs and cats living together, sheer pandemonium!"

Apparently Libby makes a pretty good pillow.

I am glad your kids are alright. How are the vet bills? Do you have pet insurance?

Nope, but we have a fairly inexpensive vet who can handle every pet we've brought him.

Oh, poor Flash! I always feel sorry for them when they're stoned...

The worst part was watching his back end slide away, not being able to raise his back paws onto steps, etc. I started to worry we had some sort of neurological issue. I've seen dogs with strokes moving like that, so of course, I go into worst case anesthesia scenario!

I remember when Torey kitty was spayed; I'd tucked her into my papasan chair with a blanket, hoping she'd just sleep it off.

Dumb cat decided to climb out of the chair, fell out...and landed on her face.

I'm snorting with laughter over the thought of that. I'm not sure what we're going to have to do with Libby to keep her calm and quiet after her spay.
