How's he doing? Is he eating differently?

He's doing great, still a little sedate but that's normal after surgery. His scrotal sacs are swollen and that swelling tends to take a few days to go down after a neutering (you can sort of see one next to his legs in the waves pic).

He's not eating much, but it's much easier for him to eat. I expect his appetite will return in abundance in the next day or two. We're not allowing him to run around, so he's sort of grounded to his cage. Once he recovers a bit more, we're going to move him to a large cage (he's in the starter one he was found in) where he can jump about and give him house privileges again.

He's very snuggly right now, he adores being held and is curious about everything. Sam is very easy to trance, as you can see and is very calm when held, you can move his legs about, pat his tummy, etc. which typically a new rabbit wouldn't yet have established trust for that.

You know they almost look as though they could be related.

I double checked with Kodiak's siblings - none of them have given birth (two sisters) or sired (brother was neutered by adopted family) and her sire was neutered.

But otherwise, yep. They are both Silver Martens but he's dwarfed, so he'll likely always be smaller than she is. Which given how bossy she is, will be just fine with Kodiak.

I'm so grateful to the interest and energy of our friends. Tonight he's going to be allowed to run around and play for the first time since his neutering. Poor guy keeps looking at me through his cage bars and asking "no really, I wanna play!"
