Wind in the Grand Firs
Dec. 29th, 2008 02:15 pmWoke up to the racket of grand fir branches falling on the roof. Oy. 20 mph winds, branches weakened by the ice and cold. It's a tit bit nipply out there at 43. I'm not complaining. There's not a single patch of ice or snow left on the ground. Thank the Gods.
The wind has aggravated my asthma, which is likely why I was up all night coughing. I'll keep outdoor activities to a minimum today. Which sucks, as I had really hoped to spend some time out in the Circle today. I'd be hard pressed to explain precisely why, but I wanted to touch base with the land again after this horrid storm.
For what it's worth: the Oak Harbor weather station is still not reporting. I hope someone has made plans to replace it.
At the moment, our ISP is holding firm so I've had steady connection. I'll likely be working on the site this afternoon and evening. I have a few ideas but mostly I need to do more research. If anyone has any recommendations for an intermediate HTML or web page design book, please shoot me a line.
