File under: be careful what you wish for.

Libby is a fantastic hunter, especially as she can climb trees in the amount of time it takes me to look up. Sadly, she goes for birds as often as mice. I took a live bird away from her in the living room this afternoon she was playing with and put it back outside. Seems she went back outside and nabbed it, again.

She's playing with it's carcass in the kitchen. Even Flash won't go in there. I'd take it away, but I'm afraid she'll go kill another one to replace it.

Ugh. I hate this.

Teach her to hunt pidgeons. They are merely fly rats, and Libby might get a paying gig downtown that would make for supplemental income for the Bun Rescue. ;)

I have 3 bird cats here. Good thing they never go outside, because there would be no birds after they got done. These cats hunt as a team.

It could be worse--she could have gone after buns!

Do you remember when we briefly had the golden retriever who snatched pigeons out of the air?

No, love it. Traditionally a wild bird flying/coming into one's home is an omen of death or tragedy upon the family or persons residing in the home or their close family and friends, so the fact that Libby is killing a bird in your home means she is feeding the new year FOR you and chasing death away from her family.

Brutal, but a GOOD thing. :)

Perspective - the thing one lacks that others provide.

Thank you. *zen hugs*

War is coming. Start weaving protective magick for your peeps in the military. If humanity is not careful, Iraq will look like a Sunday picnic next to what is coming unless we avert it.
