We're wrapping up Boo's first week staying with us, with one week to go. Doodle is working very hard to impress Boo, the old lab seems a bit befuddled by the attention but enjoys it. The situation reminds me of Flash's infatuation with Tracker when we first adopted Flash. Needless to say, the two bassets are still sleeping and playing together, but their gladiator battles have gotten more serious of late. Even Gracie is tired of splitting them up, after she busted up the most recent kerfuffle she bit Flash for good measure. Doodle had already skedaddled out of reach, he's not quite as dumb as he looks.
Last night I was giving Boo a doggie massage, since the cold wet weather has worsened his arthritis. Flash was next to us up on the ottoman and immediately turned so he wasn't facing us and began throwing disapproving looks in my direction.
Doodle, thankfully, has been behaving himself grandly. Overly enthusiastic, as always, but no accidents or completely bratty maneuvers as Flash is displaying.
Basset drama, I tell you.
