Not sure what's caused all this - really I don't. Maybe it was the Quiche Lorraine I made yesterday, maybe it was the trip to Home Depot, maybe it was the paint fumes.

This morning the boys installed a ceiling fan where the chandelier used to be in my office. It was decided en masse, so to speak, that the chandelier needed a new home since our High Priest broke off a significant portion of it with his head (I'm gluing it back on) and hubby hits it on an almost daily basis. Note that its MY office and I never hit my head on it. So now that I have this uber modern ceiling fan (low profile, but of course) in my office, I can actually sit at my desk and control the stereo, ceiling fan and light with remotes. I can also control the tv, DVD and satelite cable from my desk, if/when I choose to. Wierd. Now, if they only made a remote for the dogs.

With regards to the house painting: We chose a beautiful medium slate blue (technically "Americana" a sort of Wedgewood/Williamsburg Blue combo), which is much more appropriate for a Northwestern cottage than that horrible classroom chalk yellow it was before. The house looks so much more native to the environs now, a huge improvement. I pruned the roses yesterday and managed to free the arch to nowhere from the front border, so now we're roaming the property looking for a better home for it.

Since we're expecting rain this afternoon, the boys are going to do a quick touch up on the front of the house and the shed, then come inside and install the chandelier in the foyer (which has a higher ceiling than my office) and finish removing the drapery rods in the Master Bedroom (I could only get five removed). Gods only know what they'll get into then, possibly more chainmail or even touch up painting in the house. Hubby bought himself a new cordless drill and a ladder, so anything around the house is now subject to change.

No overhead lights are safe, no bare walls, no shelving or cabinetry, everything is subject to upgrade.

I'm blaming the quiche, frankly.
