ASBO: good or bad idea, you decide

An ASBO is an antisocial behaviour order in the UK. I'd love for our UK friends to chime in with their thoughts, experiences, etc.

I can see where this could go horribly wrong, or fairly well.

I'm not in the UK but we get most of the British TV here in Ireland and it seems to be quite a problem. I'm not sure where this issue stems from, there is also a debate about children being expelled from school because the school just can't deal with their behaviour. Which gets into the right to education and all that. I agree that these kind of laws can be very iffy and I'm certain that they will not cure the problem, they are just putting a band aid on the symptoms.
