Once more into the abyss

Apparently, there has been some sort of screw up with the VA GI Bill spousal benefit and the school has not been paid. Needless to say, this is a huge FUBAR as they were about to lock me out of my classes. As it is, I'm preparing a portfolio with one of the college administrators to receive formal acceptance, so this is one more hoop to jump through that I really don't have the time or energy for right now.

The VA's system is insanely complex - Josh has transferred the benefit over to me and told that was all he needed to do by the ESO on the boat. Unfortunately, this is not true. I also need to apply for the benefit, which is legally authorized. So here you go. More bullshit and more paperwork. The administrators at my college are saints!

Fortunately, they are going to let me continue with classes for now. Otherwise, I'd be throwing up right now instead of just merely burning my way to another ulcer.

Those hoops and nightmares are my biggest worry about Chris going back to school next year. I really don't want to be on the hook for a few thousand dollars while the VA dithers and dickers about whether/when/how much they're going to pay.

I only know a small bit about how all of that works...But, needless to say, there's far too many places along the pipeline for things to go wrong for my own level of comfort. That's true enough of any/all higher education, but for the Naval college/VA things, it seems particularly the case...I hope it gets ironed out without too much difficulty, and soon!
