Clear as a bell

I've been trying very hard to be happy with the camera on my Blackberry. Really, I am. The problem is the controls really suck. It doesn't even seem to have a flash. And I just can't stand the fuzzy, dark pictures anymore.

There's a bit of vanity in this - my grandfather was a freelance photojournalist and my father was a portrait photographer, between the two I learned a lot. And had a marvelous time as a teen with my own dark room. I do miss it, even in this digital age.

But mostly, I miss taking pictures whenever I want. I miss Furkid Friday Posts. I miss taking pictures of the gorgeous eggs. I miss playing with and sorting the pics. *sigh*

A new camera is a must. So, anyone with any ideas or recommendations? I can't break the bank with this, just a nice little 12 megapixel.

I really like my Panasonic Lumix camera. It's a TZ3, but that model is no longer made. It's got a fantastic optical zoom lens, great controls and isn't priced too high.

We've had the Canon PowerShot SX110is for a couple of years now and I continue to be surprised by its versatility and excellent results. Don't know about the newest models, but we couldn't be happier with this one.
