Carrying Water

The Zen quote: "Before Enlightenment, carry water. After Enlightenment, carry water" is very much on my mind today, as I've toted waterers all over the place. I sure must be Enlightened right now. In fact, I've splashed Enlightenment all over my front. At 62F, its hot enough here to feel refreshed by a little liquid Enlightenment.
Watering can take upwards of an hour a day by myself, spread over the course of the day. There's bottles, bins and waterers to clean and fill. And frankly, I could use even more poultry waterers. The bantam chickens have the largest waterer we have, plus two bottles filled twice daily. The chicks and older ducklings have a medium sized one that needs filling twice a day. The poor standard-sized chickens are stuck sharing the duck water bins and the large outdoor dog waterer.
Nera waddled her little family into the backyard, which necessitates a secure pen because Doodle can't quite seem to understand that ducklings are very fragile. In order to hold off that certain trauma, I spent about a half hour catching the little darlings, then popping them and Nera into the East Wing of Bunhalla. Unfortunately, its still awaiting new fencing. I have the fencing, what I need are zipties and time. I should have both tomorrow.
My only hope is that by keeping Nera contained, her ducklings will stay with her. Noah had cleaned out the bulk of the dirty rabbit hay, thankfully. I've set them up with starter feed, two waterers for the ducklings (one of which they can splash around in) and one deep bin for Mamma Nera.
I'm heading in to town for dinner out with Kevin tonight, will likely grab a few things on my way back home afterwards.
