And so have a few moments to update.
The coven came over yesterday for class and much frivolity. Its lovely having Elders who are willing to travel to us now and again, we're so fortunate! The Auxillary (as we call our non-Initiate friends) came round at 1pm to join us, which is something I TRULY appreciate about our coven: that we make time, place and room for our non-BTW pagan friends, family members and open-minded friends. There's not a month that goes by that there's isn't something offered for all of us to get together, laugh and enjoy each other with good food, raunchy conversation and lots of community. A very, very good thing indeed!
We then loaded up for a field trip to the Earth Sanctuary. Now, for those who haven't had the chance to go, its a wondrous retreat, open to the responsible public. Seventy-two acres of the Pacific Northwest in all its glory - egret nests, small islands within a pond, beautiful vistas and native plants. Then, there's the magic: Two stone circles, one very formal and imposing of what I think in the future will be called the "Neo-Druid" period and a small, intimate, person-sized stone circle. The dichotomy between the two is amazing. Not for love nor money, could I concentrate for all the ley line activity at the giant-sized one. All I could sense was all the people walking through the circle and a sort of loud hum that made concentration difficult. Perhaps when I return by myself I can sort it all out, but this was about Family - so the intimate and rustic witches circle was very much more appreciated. Sitting against the stones, taking little trips and naps, hanging out laughing and sharing - much more my style. The peace was amazing and very appreciated. I'm going to make sure this payday we join the ES.
Not being welcome at the Medicine Wheel (no offense taken at that), the HP and I took a walk to discuss where I'm headed and the progress being made (or not made, conversely). With his guidance, I've a better idea of how the next few months will go and what needs to be accomplished in that time period. Much of which centered on not being so concerned about using my resources, etc. There's several other magic places at the ES to talk about, but I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise for folks who want to go there.
I do want to report on a bit of zaniness at the Sanctuary - they got into a poop fight. Shit you not. The kids and several adults got into a rabbit and deer poop fight. Mercifually, the poop was entirely desicated by the current drought - but still. EWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!
