The wind she was a howling
Jan. 5th, 2008 01:14 pmWe managed through the night without losing electricity, how I'll never know. And don't tell me its improvements from PSE, I assure you they have absolutely no interest in folks outside of town limits. I had made a lovely potato and ham chowder just in case we lost power that would be easy to warm up on the woodstove. And damn, it was delicious!
We've got a few branches down, but otherwise seem to have come through pretty well. A quick check on Bunhala found the three boys eating hay, Amber tucked inside one of the dog houses and Martha hard at work tunneling into a straw bale. We'll need a new rain tarp for Bunhala; the old one is now shredded to bits. The rabbits on the back porch did fine, though their tarps need to be re-attached at the front. The bungee cords couldn't hold on, though the zip ties did great.
For myself, I had a marvelous dream where my grandparents (both deceased) were alive and well in their home and adopting the two fuzzy bunnies. My sis and I had driven over in our matching cars and were helping to get a cage set up on their back porch. I didn't want to wake up, now I feel bereft. -
