Somehow in all the hilarity of winter, we left the autumn decorations up in the Temple. We kept holding out for lovely winter decorations and never found them. Thankfully a quick shopping trip with Deb and Tiger found appropriate silk flower clusters and ivy swags. I've still got a few more things left to do, but at least we're making some headway. This season's project for the Temple includes making element pennants, so there's quite a lot to do ahead and I still haven't found element colored denim. Argh.
I also bought a few pinwheel whirligigs for the front yard, mostly to torture Flash. Tiger's neighbor across the street has a whole bunch of very expensive whirligigs and they fascinate Flash, who will sit backwards on the sofa and stare at them for hours. There was a concern that given our fences and thick tallow/snow berry bushes we wouldn't have enough wind. No longer a concern, they are spinning madly along the driveway.
Spent way too much at the local co-op buying specialty bread baking items: cake flour, cornmeal, rock salt, hazelnuts, cream cheese, etc. Trying to break out of my six bread routine (challah, beer butter, focaccia, sourdough, scones and muffins). Expect posts on this over at
