Fog has kept hubby from taking the northern ferry at Pt. Townsend, so he's headed across via Edmonds & Mulkiteo. Needless to say, I'm less than thrilled. :(

Doodle is still protecting his bad leg and yelping every so often, though most of the time he has it curled under himself and it's not slowed him down at all. As I write, he's jumped up on the sofa and staring at me with his sweet doggie eyes from the back of the sofa. I've been giving him Ibuprophen at night to help. There's nothing visually wrong with the leg: no swelling or ulcer, full rotation without pain and the ligaments don't feel like they are tightening. I'll get him into the vet next week. We've always known that leg had an expiration date, but I'd hoped for a few more years. *sigh* Doodle's the kind of dog who won't care at all, thankfully. And certainly Flash, who is constantly at his side, will see him through recovery, as will his devoted pal, Libby. Anyone experienced in this, from either side of the table as it were, I'd love to hear from you.

I'm in the process of registering for the BRC (Basic Rider Course) for August 7, 8, & 9th. Unfortunately, they are still using snail mail, so I'm trying to get as much handled as possible over the phone. I've already arranged coverage for the bookstore that weekend. Cross your fingers for me, folks. I'm trying not to get too nervous, but anxiety and me are old pals.

Any idea at all what might be wrong with the leg? Poor Doodles. He's got such a sweet face. I hope to meet him someday.

YAY that the course is next weekend! Feel free to call me for a pep talk if you're so moved.

I'm wondering if he's either dislocated it or if those ligaments are finally tightening. It could, of course, be something simple like he's pulled a muscle. I shouldn't always go to worst case scenario. :)

May do so, I'm en route to becoming a nervous wreck. Josh has been reminding me that he learned to ride in 20 minutes. Has his heart set on a Victory for his next bike, from the looks of it.

Not really experienced, other than a childhood friend's black lab lost a leg (hit by a car) at a relatively young age. I don't think he ever noticed it was gone.

Frankly, given Doodle's IQ (or lack thereof) I don't think he'll notice either.
