The New Ladies: Magpie & Ancona ducks

The chocolate speckled ducks in the center are the new gals - Anastasia (Magpie, all white), Lavadia (Magpie, spotted), Catherina (Ancona w/black wings), and finally, Tatiana (Ancona w/speckled head, brown butt). The naming scheme compliments of Kevin who apparently has a Russian Czarina thing going on.

We're at a full baker's dozen of 13, Josh is calling it a quacking coven. :)



Gracie, of course, is beside herself with joy at having even more feathered sheep to herd! The Chuckleheads, of course, are just excited because they are bassets. Or something.

Let's see. That would mean that by the time you get the Harlies and the Cayugas, you'll have a few short of 100, right?

Kevin's buddies wants a few ducks to train his border collie, he was really impressed with Gracie so a few ducks (especially Phil) are going on to a new home soon as the friend returns from deployment. :)

But yeah, add a Cayuga or two, plus a Harlie (if I can find one, the gal hasn't written back in awhile) that will only keep the flock number static.

Aren't they lovely? And my do they have duckitude! Flash went to go sniff one and she went full goose attack on him, poor guy. He just leaned over and let her go for awhile, then ran off.
