Quite a few of you know about Josh and I's ongoing war to "out tacky" each other. For some reason, the trappings of paganism and Judaism feature heavily in this.

I mention the above to alert folks to the upcoming creation of a yard menorah by Josh.

Be afraid. Picture goodness to come.

Alex and I have the same contest -- which is why we have so much awful Christmas music.

You - menorahs
Us - bad holiday music. If it costs more than $5, it's probably too good to qualify!

Speaking of which, I have some very appropriate music to send along to My Lady. She might even forgive me for it--someday. :)

I'm not even sure how this started, but he's still under the impression that I don't know what all those tubes are for!

I look forward to discovering whether it outdoes the legendary "microwaving Jesus" incident from my youth...

For some reason the thought of Jesus being microwaved makes me think of a cross between Mutant Ninja Turtles and Jesus... so Teenage Mutant Ninja Jesus? Sounds pretty frickin awesome, actually! lol

My parents used to put out a light up Jesus, Mary and Joseph for Christmas, and the angel was either up on the TV antenna or tied to a tree. One year we went away for something for a few days, and when we came back, our neighbours had put a plastic statue of a reclining cow with his head propped on a hoof, wearing a wrist watch beside Joseph. It was awesome :D

ROTFLMAO! That sounds great.

I had to remind Josh that no roman candles are allowed in the Menorah.

I'll see if took any photos (that may have been before we had a digital camera) and post it if I find any.

No roman candles, but did you also warn him no blow torches or 10 million candle power spotlights?

I can't wait to see the pictures! My friend Wil used to have Harry the Hannukah Moose, and I thought that was the height of it.

We've had several iterations - The Hannukah Bush and Hannukah Harry (sometimes a camel, haven't tried a moose, as yet but will!).

...no Roman Candles...too early, but if he could manage Syriac or Greek would that be acceptable? (or is my sense of humor so odd that it isn't really that funny?)
