Frozen Northwest
Dec. 14th, 2009 06:40 pmFortunately the Winter Freeze we've been having has finally broken and our normal Winter temps have returned. Nights in the forties is doable for all our critters, even the hens were thinking they'd rough it out in their old coop. I found the two gals tucked away in there for the night, but since I hadn't an opportunity to clean it out this weekend I overruled them and tucked them away in the shed coop with the BCMs.
All this is excellent timing because I've been pulling down additional shifts at the bookstore due to the holiday rush. I'm very concerned because the inventory is lower than I can ever remember, so much fewer options for customers to choose from. We're ordering at a good clip, but at the end of the day, you cannot count on special orders for your entire business which seems to be the business model at work. If there is one. *sigh*
I'm hoping to earn enough to buy myself a Notebook, as we'll be buying a home pc with our tax refund in the next few months. Having to borrow old laptops from friends and hubby is literally stressing the crap out of me. I have nightmares about my external backup drive dying, which is why I'm not touching it until I have another machine. Which means I really need to do research. *sigh*

Date: 2009-12-15 06:47 am (UTC)If you can put off your road trip for a little while you might want to. Most of the heavily traveled roads are pretty good in most places, but there's still some nasty spots and a lot of real idiot drivers on the roads right now. Between having to drive the van and my back being in pretty bad shape right now, I'm choosing to stay off the roads until they're a bit more clear. And if you do come to Bellingham, can I expect to see you in Blaine? We're only another 20 miles from the north side of B'ham.
