Next time, either leave Josh at home or swear him to silence. Thanksgiving shopping with hubby is really *not* going to improve my general grumpiness about the menfolk wanting a traditional Thanksgiving without doing any of the work! Add to that, Josh volunteered us to make 2 huge pans of Green Bean Casserole and buns to serve 30 for the Single Sailors Thankgsiving.

Notable Quotes:

"You're buying too many French Beans" - no, I bought just enough.
"You're buying too many rolls" - see above.
"That's too many boxes of stuffing" - *snort*
"Why do we need *this* again?" - see above.
"Do we really need all this?" (looking at the cart) - yes, shut up.
"OMG, that's our grocery bill?" - see above.

Its a small, informal three person Turkey Day. Snacks for before the meal - olives, chips, nuts, etc. Then one turkey, two starchy sides, two vegetable sides and one pie. And of course stuff to support leftovers during the weekend - turkey pot pie, turkey sandwiches, etc.

Mine actually moved his butt away from his computer, ran the vacuum in one room and sorted his own mail off the kitchen island. It truly IS a miracle, and we aren't even on 34th St!! Happy Turkey Day to all y'all -- :D

Every time that we cook dinner for company, Barbara and I have the same conversation. It's my native New England frugality versus her Italian heritage abondanza. She wins; I eat leftovers for a week.

After 3 days of the preparing, cleaning and "pre" cooking, today, Thanksgiving, my husband says "what can I do to help?" To his great credit, he was only mildly insulted when I answered, "stay out of the kitchen and out of my way."

Jeramy is pretty much at the computer. But, I at least got him to rip up the bread for the stuffing.

Everything else I've done on my own, the shopping and the rest of the cooking, with Stephen going wild around me. Oh man, he drew on the walls today, at least it was easy to clean.

Jeramy does change diapers and things like that when I ask him, so I guess it's all good. But I hate having to say things have to get done, wen it's obvious they need to be done.

Taking a break for the moment. Stephen is napping.
