Yes, I know they live everywhere on Whidbey Island. Yes, I know they are absolutely 100% edible and my yard is filled with thousands of them.

Yes. I know.

Still not eating them. Phhhhhhhhhhhhhhbbbbbbbbbbbbblllllllllllllltttttttttttt!

Anything that grows in my backyard has one of three foodsources: weeds, rabbit poop or dog shit.

*ewwwwwwww*

They're also about as kosher as pork fried rice if I remember correctly. LOL

We make use of snails from time to time for Obatala. I wonder if they ship well. LOL

I have no idea, but if you want them, do let me know.

I'll leave them all to Obatala. UGH.

Ugh

For my 21st birthday my now ex took me out to a fine dining experience. Where, after a bit of cajoling, I ordered escargot swimming in butter and garlic. Truly, they smelled delicious.

I ate one. Only one. Matt ate the rest. I did it, and I'll never do it again.

I adore Gordon Ramsay, but even he couldn't get me to eat them.

*shudder*

They are truly spectacular if prepared well. If not, they rival overcooked squid in rubberiness.

Jerked squid? Seriously????

Squid jerky, actually.

I'd eat either, I'm sure. I've had trout jerky that was phenomenal.

Speaking of food, I finally managed to deal with the frozen blueberries. Still have to decide what the ratios will be.

I promise I'll get that shopping list to you! It's just turned into "a week" and I'm a bonehead.

We MUST have snails when you visit in June. Somewhere in this town must serve them. I will find it.

Remember Le Petit Cafe? Rob's escargot was WONDERFUL. :-)

I ate one in 6th grade science class, fresh from the fish tank.

Well, actually, I ate half of one. the other half sat in the shell and bled.

Why? Long story.

I was okay until social studies class next period when we were finishing up a unit on Greece and my dad had sent some homemade bread...with raisins in it...

Hello! Thought I'd take a second to introduce myself. Obviously, it was [livejournal.com profile] whitephoenix that sent me this way. She thought we might get along and have things to talk about. I'm a former pagan interested in conversion to Judaism (long story). I know Lei through the madness of BPAL. So..hi! :)

Sounds wonderful, welcome aboard.

I've got a foot in either camp, as I'm a BTW and a member of our Jewish community. Makes for an interesting perspective, lemme tell you.

So what form of Judaism, if you've decided yet, are you considering?

I bet the perspective is quite interesting!

I will probably seek conversion in Conservative Judaism. It might be easier if/when I make a move to Baltimore.

I wasn't raised in any faith..so life's been kind of confusing at times... :)

Wowsa all the way to conservative!

I'm somewhere between Renewal and Reconstructionalist, which suits me well. Lots of feminist spirituality between the two.

Do you already have plans for Passover?

From: [identity profile] tidesong.livejournal.com
Well, I figure since it's pretty widely accepted, except by most Orthodox standards, it's just being "safe" :) And while it's not the reason for my wanting to convert, my boyfriend is a Conservative Jew. (I've had a desire to convert to Judaism since I was in high school. Dating a Jew...well, he kind of just dropped in my lap, per se.)

I've met with the Reconstructionalist rabbi here. She's really awesome. I think my personal beliefs probably lie somewhere between Reform and Reconstructionalist.

No plans for Passover. I'd like to try to find a seder though. What are you doing?

I'm supposed to be joining the Whidbey Island Jews, but I'll be driving back from attending a Cosan full moon down in Olympia that morning, so I'm a bit concerned about traffic drive times.

And, of course, missing Sabbat for Full Moon. Can't keep all the Gods happy at once, I've noticed.

*laugh* No, I don't suppose we can. But we try the best we can.

Mmm, Whidbey Island. It's so beautiful up there. I miss the Pacific NW.
